Boise Kei Shin Kan July 2014 Newsletter

 

Hey everyone,

It’s July, it’s hot and we’ve got the 2/2/2 air conditioning going full blast (two fans, two doors, two windows), but still remember to bring water! The new roof insulation has made quite the difference this summer, thanks again to Sensei Issac and Sensei Kirby for installing it. This month’s Striking Post is from a guest author (see below). It’s an interactive read, complete with a few breathing exercises, so make sure to have enough time to try them out when you go to read it. I learned a lot about something I’d mistaken for being so simple: breathing. It’s a great article.

Kei Shin Kan Sensei Ryan Hodginson is our guest contributor for the July Striking Post. Sensei Ryan is a 3rd Dan Kie Shin Kan, and 1st Dan Goju Ryu. He has been training karate for 20 years and is currently in Washington, DC, with his family. Sensei Ryan is Sensei Espinoza’s son, and a nationally recognized athlete and trainer.

Becky continues to train with us at the Boise dojo, Phillip has been doing some training as well as his schedule permits. Ricky has been posting regularly updates online for training and condition for his next fight, which we will announce when we know more.
